A prequel to the original Dune, it tells how the Rossak Sisterhood evolved into the Bene Gesserit. The incident with Valya Harkonnen using the voice is from one called ‘Mentats of Dune’. The three books intertwine the development of the Sisterhood, the Mentats, the Navigators, and the Suk Doctors.
The factional conflict of the great houses and the forces operating in the shadows is always interesting when done well
Travis Fimmel, Emily Watson, and Mark Strong carry the show so far, I can’t stress how important it is to have good actors turning lines into gold. There are only two episodes so far so it may not be fair to rate it yet, but I do have opinions. As long as the political story is moving forward I am all for it, there is a lot of potential for world building based on Herbert’s work.
That’s my opinion
This is my point of interest, Hollywood doesn’t seem to understand that most people don’t like their story being interrupted with a long unnecessary sex scene and space cocaine. It’s 2024, if we want to watch porn we can go watch porn. Game of Thrones was great because the script was great, until they ran out of books to copy from, not because of the nudity.
